What is EV
Broadly defined – any vehicle used to transport people and/or goods that is powered wholly or partially by electricity. In general, electric vehicles (EVs) refer to those vehicles using electric motors for propulsion instead of solely relying on conventional gasoline or diesel internal combustion engines.Drive Oregon recognizes the entire value and supply chain including the components, energy storage devices,systems, software, telematics, infrastructure and support services relating to transportation electrification that can reduce our region’s CO2 emissions and its reliance on foreign oil.
Depending on how electricity is generated, EVs can be further divided into 4 types, namely battery EVs, hybrid EVs, plug-in hybrid EVs and fuel cell EVs.
America uses 25% of the world’s oil, but is only 4.5% of the world’s population.
