Ambiente Motors partners with Southern Oregon University

November 30th, 2010

Southern Oregon University will partner with Ashland-based Ambiente Motors, on a pilot project to test an electric power train design on one of the school’s landscape trucks.

Before the end of the year, Ambiente will install its electric power train design on a Southern Oregon University truck, and then test it for the next 12 to 18 months as part of a study for converting conventional fleet trucks to electric vehicles.

SOU plans to convert its entire small- and medium-duty truck fleet to alternative fuel by 2016.
